Watershed Public Theatre Volunteer Opportunities

Whether you were born for the stage or prefer being part of the audience, Watershed Public Theatre has a place for you. Your unique talents—whether you think they are theatre-related or not!—can help bring the inspiration and engagement of a live theatre experience to your neighbors right here in Maury County. Ushers

Meet us at the door! The usher is the first representative of Watershed Public Theatre that most community members attending a performance will meet. The Usher attends to the welcome, comfort, and safety of audience members, directing them to their seats and facility accommodations and to exits in case of emergency. Watershed Public Theatre’s ushers arrive one hour before the show, work before the show and at intermission, and receive complimentary admission to the performance.

Backstage Work

Do you have hands-on experience backstage at the theatre? Want to learn about technical theatre? Put your skills to work for Watershed!
• Costumes—Work wardrobe during a show run (sewing skills not required) or help build the costumes (sewing skills needed)
• Sets—Help us load sets in and out of the performance space. There will be some heavy lifting and skills with hand tools are a plus. Set painters also needed.
• Props—Work backstage managing props during a show run or help acquire or build props
• Lights/Sound—Assist lighting and sound designers with show set up and tear down. Prior experience is a plus, but not required.

Remote Volunteer Opportunities

Do you have the desire to help support live theatre in Maury County but have a hectic schedule? We have ways you can help from wherever you are whenever you find the time! If you have marketing, social media, graphic design, fundraising, copy or technical writing, or research skills, Watershed Public Theatre has a place for you. Let us know which of these special skills you have, and we will get started on a project.
